FSSWCI, Allstate Foundation teaming up to fight domestic abuse

Saturday, October 9, 2021

Estimates show 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men experiences domestic violence in the United States, and nearly all those cases include financial abuse.

Since 2005, The Allstate Foundation has been committed to ending domestic violence through financial empowerment.

In partnership with Family Support Services of West Central Indiana, and many providers like them around the country, they help provide survivors with the education and resources needed to achieve their potential again and equip young people with the information and confidence they need to help prevent unhealthy relationships before they start.

Each year, as a symbol for the Allstate Foundation’s commitment to ending Domestic Violence, they partner with select designers to create a limited-edition purple purse. One of the Foundation’s primary programs is dedicated to ending domestic violence through financial empowerment of survivors.

The purse is symbolic of The Allstate Foundations program because purple is the color of domestic violence awareness and purse is a symbol of a person’s financial domain.

Brazil residents receive support from thc FSSWCI, and can help this great cause by making donations.

This year, in partnership with Greencastle Allstate Agent Matthew Welker and Allstate Representative Sally Fowler (who serves as the FSSWCI Financial Empowerment Educator), Family Support Services of West Central Indiana will be hosting an opportunity for you to win 1 of 2 Purple Purses we have available.

During the month of October, also Domestic Violence Awareness Month, for every donation received of $10 or more, you will be entered into the drawing to win. For every gift over $10, you will receive an additional entry at each $10.00 increment, for example, $10 = 1 entry, $20 = 2 entries, $100 = 10 entries. In addition if you sign up for recurring monthly donations you will receive 1 additional entry.

Although donations are accepted year-round only gifts received through Oct. 31 will be eligible. To donate, visit www.fsswci.net, mail or deliver payment to FSSWCI, Attn: Purple Purse, 16 South Jackson Street, Greencastle, IN 46135.
