Seven Indiana counties are in the YELLOW Advisory category on the Indiana State Department of Health’s Dashboard. The remaining 86 counties are either in ORANGE(69) or RED(17).

Using last week’s data, Clay County’s status regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus is as follows:

COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard

The ISDH’s COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard (www.https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/vaccine) reflects 10,894 Clay County residents are fully vaccinated, with 2,495 booster shots administered.

Throughout Indiana, the dashboard reflects 4,982 new fully vaccinated residents among the overall total of 3,446,898 vaccinated. Those receiving booster shots total 855,277.

CCSC COVID-19 Data

November 29 - December 2, 2021

The COVID-19 data from Clay Community Schools Corporation confirms the level of the virus spread in Clay County schools continues to be in flux.

Coordinator of Health Services for Clay Community Schools Lynn Stoelting, BSN RN, confirmed Thursday the current COVID-19 data reflects most cases quarantined due to close family contacts over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

OMICRON Variant

According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, the Omicron mutated variant of the coronavirus officially arrived in the US on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. World Health Organization says the global risk from the variant is “very high” based on early evidence, and it could lead to surges with “severe consequences.”

More than 20 countries have found the variant, first detected in southern Africa.
