HELP FOR TENANTS & RENTERS

SUBMITTED

Help is available whether or not you have an eviction case already filed. It is free and easy to find out if you qualify. A majority of those who apply receive funding to cover some or all back rent owed and ongoing rent.

Confidentiality protections are available. Completing a pre-eviction diversion program is confidential and will not negatively impact your ability to secure housing in the future.

Ensuring housing stability is a win-win for tenants, landlords and all Hoosiers.

APPLYING FOR RENT RELIEF FUNDS

More than $400 million in rental assistance has been authorized by the federal government for the state of Indiana.

Tenants (and landlords) have the ability initiate the application process.

To be eligible for funding, tenants must meet requirements for income and other factors.

Funds can cover past due rent, future rent, or reduce outstanding balances owed as well as utilities and home energy costs.

Check your status – more funding was added making previously ineligible households now eligible for assistance.

You will be given time to complete applications and determine eligibility of funds before going to court.

If you cannot apply online, call 2-1-1 for help with your application.
