On Friday morning, Northview senior Macey Timberman received a prestigious honor very few around the state have earned when the Hoosier Basketball Magazine, in conjunction with the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) and Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), named her one of the top 60 girls high basketball seniors.

In being named to the 41st annual Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s top 60 seniors, Timberman was invited to participate in the workout that is scheduled to take place at Beech Grove High School on March 6 from 1-3 p.m. (first session) or 3:30-5 p.m. (second session).

Timberman was one of 1,600 senior players up for the honor. And by the season the 5-foot-6 guard who committed to play collegiately at Parkland College had, it made sense Timberman was Northview’s representative.

In her 25 games played, Timberman was among the top scorers in the state for a multi-week stretch. She led Northview in total points scored (493), points per game (19.7), total assists (72) and assists per game (2.9). Timberman also averaged 4.9 rebounds per game, 1.8 steals per game and 0.2 blocks per game while shooting 39 percent from the field, 26 percent from the 3-point line and 69 percent from the free throw line.

Timberman finished her four-year career at Northview as the program’s No. 4 all-time scorer with her 1,299 points.

The entire top 60 senior list was not made public but will likely have multiple student-athletes from the Wabash Valley on it.
