YUMMY: The Food Truck Friday fundraising event is a success
Even before the fundraising event started at ll a.m Friday, people were enjoying the good weather and waiting to experience the food truck cuisine.
"We had a bigger crowd than anticipated," said Stephanie Dickison, who helped her coworkers at the Clay County Prosecutor's Office organized the event. "I thought it was 300-400 people, but they said I was a little low."
There was a bake sale by the prosecutor's office staff, and all the funds collected went to the Clay County Youth Food Delivery Program.
A few food trucks experienced unforeseen issues, but those in attendance were kept busy.
Trucks at the event included:
Freddy's Catering
Anthony's Wood-Fire Pizza
Kona Ice
Mad House Kettle Korn and Pork Rinds
Dickison said the total collected at the bake sale and the donations made by the vendors was $510, adding, "We had really good feedback."
The excitement will continue because the calendar is cleared for another event on Friday, August 26.
Dickison said, "We're going to try to do more."
