Clay County Justice Center - Tyler Levi Bryan

A Terre Haute man recently went to jail after allegedly kicking in the door of a Brazil residence.

Tyler Levi Bryan was arrested on August 22 on three felony and three misdemeanor charges, including:

F3 - Burglary resulting in bodily injury

F5 - Battery against a public safety officer

F6- Residential entry

MA - Resisting law enforcement

MA- Battery resulting in bodily injury

MB - Criminal mischief

Bryan is currently incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center on a $25,000 cash bond (no 10% allowed) while awaiting formal court proceedings.

According to the Brazil Police Department, officers responded to a call shortly before midnight on August 21. Bryan is alleged to have kicked in the door, entered an apartment, then entered the bedroom, and woke the residents by yelling at them. Although he was told to leave, Bryan apparently refused and attacked one of the residents, battering him.

Officers arrested Bryan during the incident shortly after midnight on August 22 on fresh charges.

Bryan’s first court appearance in Clay Circuit Court was to increase the bond amount to $25,000 with no 10%, which Judge Joseph Trout signed. The Probable Cause affidavit was presented by the Prosecutor’s Office and signed. Indigent Counsel was appointed, and a bail review was scheduled in September. (Clay County Community Corrections is ordered to determine Bryan’s eligibility for electronic in-home detention.)

Bryan appeared in court again on August 24, where he was formerly advised of his charges, possible penalties, and rights. The court entered a not guilty plea on Bryan’s behalf and set a jury trial for November.

Bryan remains incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center.
