Vernon D. Smith

Vernon D. Smith, 87, of Brazil, passed away on February 3. He was born to Marshall and Mamie (Huff) Smith in Dugger, Indiana.

Vernon graduated from Union High School in Dugger with the class of 1953.

He married Judy (Marlow) Smith in October 1961.

He worked for GTE/Verizon telephone company and retired after 30 years of service.

Survivors include son Kurt (Brenda) Smith and their daughter Jadyn; daughter Crystal (Pat) Louden and their daughter Marlo; and very special friend Steve Staley.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Ladonna Servier and Bertha Jo Kendall.

He has so graciously donated his body to the Indiana University Anatomical Education program.
