Small Business Spotlight: 1st Choice Lawn Care
Wanting to work outside led a local man to become a first-time business owner.
Chris Morris, a Northview graduate, has loved being outdoors since he was a child, so when an opportunity came along to be his own boss and work outside - he took it.
“I have a passion for being outdoors,” said Morris about opening 1st Choice Lawn Care last February at his home in Brazil. “It just took off like a rocket.”
Morris explained the next phase of his business would be setting up a physical shop location.
1st Choice Lawn Care strives to provide efficient and affordable choices for lawn care needs, including mowing, landscaping, snow and ice management, bulk deliveries of dirt mulch and rock for driveways, and more.
“Do the right thing when no one is looking” is Morris’s life motto and work ethic.
When asked about offering advice to other first-time entrepreneurs, Morris was quick to reply
“Make sure you have the right equipment to do the job,” said Morris, who added don’t be afraid. “Word of mouth has been great for us to build a clientele list; it’s spreading like wildfire.”
1st Choice Lawn Care has supported some local sports teams, placed signs along State Road 59, and has a Facebook page with contact information.
