Kris Carnahan-Kelley

Senior Education Ministries, Inc. has scheduled Dine with a Doc®- Clay County: the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 10a-12pm to take place at the Staunton Community Center 101 N Monroe St; Staunton, Indiana 47881 -- (812) 448-1487

Dine with a Doc® - Clay County is a FREE program that welcomes the local senior public to getting to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch. No need to bring any money! Just bring a questioning mind, an appetite and perhaps a friend.

This program is a community effort of a doctor, a lunch sponsor, the senior citizens, local churches and area businesses coming together for the good of all to serve the senior citizens.

Each doctor has graciously donated this time in effort to listen, hear, and answer your medical questions while sharing a meal with you. Various community businesses also participate by donating door prizes or providing complimentary lunch for you to enjoy and learn about ways they may help you as well.

The Dine with a Doc® program was designed to allow the seniors to get out of their homes, fellowship with their peers, extend their available financial resources, promote enhanced living, and educate them (from a preventative standpoint) with the goal of improving their quality of life and providing them with the resources and information to make an informed choice about their healthcare.

This month we are excited to present Kris Carnahan- Kelley.

Kris Carnahan-Kelley is from Vincennes, IN. She grew up on a family farm, and went to a small rural high school, then Vincennes University, and finally graduated from Purdue University. She obtained her life, health and accident insurance license in 1993. She lived in Indianapolis for a few years

after Purdue and before returning to Vincennes 25 years ago to raise her girls, who are now 27 and 23, they are her life. Kris has owned her insurance brokerage business, since 1993, which just means she writes a lot of different types of coverage with a lot of different companies. This includes health

insurance for people under and over age 65, life insurance, and retirement planning.

One big part of her business in West Terre Haute is pre-planning at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home (you have to have an insurance license to do pre-planning/irrevocable trust and that’s where she comes in). She loves working with Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, it has a small town feel and it fits her well, She believes that pre-planning your final arrangements is a valuable and important thing to do for your family. Kris has received a lot of national honors and awards with her business, but that isn’t her goal; Her goal is to treat people right. She runs her business a bit old fashioned as she likes to meet and know her clients. She likes to be available if they need her or have questions. (She despises 800 numbers and long hold times!)

Fun fact, Kris grew up in a horse family, where they all show barrel and pole horses. Her father was a 13 time world champion. Kris has also won the world championships.

This is one presentation you won’t want to miss! A question/answer period will follow her discussion.

A complimentary Lunch will be courtesy of: Cloverleaf Healthcare
