TOP STORY OF THE DAY: Serving warrant leads to new charges
While serving an arrest warrant, a search warrant was obtained and executed by officers to locate approximately 26 pounds of Marijuana at a residence in Posey Township,
According to a Clay County Sheriff’s Department press release, officers went to Shiloh Ray Holifield’s home on Monday, Feb. 27, to serve a felony arrest warrant.
Officers detected a strong odor of Marijuana during the arrest from inside the residence. Clay County then obtained a search warrant.
Detectives located approximately 26 pounds of Marijuana, several packages containing THC edibles, and around one pound of psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms), a scheduled one controlled substance.
Chief Deputy Eric Oberholtzer confirmed Holifield was arrested on the following allegations:
Level 5 felony Dealing Marijuana over ten pounds,
Level 2 felony Dealing a Scheduled l Controlled Substance and the charges for the outstanding arrest warrant, including:
Intimidation — Level 5 Felony
Criminal Mischief — Class A Misdemeanor
Interference with Custody — Class B Misdemeanor
Holifield was booked into the Clay County Justice Center and held on a $51,000 cash bond.
Oberholtzer confirmed a case file was forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office for review and further charging.
