On Friday evening, March 24, a Brazil Police Department officer was flagged down by a female who stated her friend had just “been jumped” and battered by another female.

Delaney Willmore, 20, Brazil, told officers she was invited to a Brazil residence and, upon arrival, was beaten by another female inside the home. At the time, the female’s identity was unknown.

An ambulance was dispatched to the scene due to Willmore’s “obvious injuries,” and initially transported to St. Vincent’s Ascension Hospital. Due to Willmore’s severe facial injuries, she was transferred to Indianapolis Methodist Hospital/IU Health for further treatment.

(Due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, additional information about the medical condition of victims is unavailable.)

On Saturday, March 25, BPD Criminal Investigative Division identified a suspect in the battery case; Gavyn Trinajstick, 20, Brazil.

Officers went to the Trinajstick residence but learned she had just left in a black Infinity passenger car.

A Clay County Sheriff’s Department deputy located the vehicle, and BPD officers took Trinajstick into custody.

Trinajstick was taken to the Clay County Justice Center.

On Monday, charges were updated to level 3 felony Aggravated Battery with a $25,000 cash bond. She remains incarcerated awaiting formal court proceedings.

Officials confirm this case is still under investigation. No further details are available at this time

NOTE: All individuals named in this matter are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
