TOP STORY OF THE DAY: Upcoming School Board meeting to consider grant funding for therapy dogs

Submitted Photo - The Clay Community School Board approved the therapy dog program featuring “Journey” for Van Buren Elementary in April 2021. It was a first. On Thursday, they will consider a grant proposal for funding six additional therapy dogs to be utilized in schools.

Among the various things on the agenda for Thursday night’s School Board meeting, they will consider a grant proposal for funding six additional therapy dogs to be utilized in schools.

Assistant Superintendent Tim Rayle will be on hand to talk to the board members and answer questions about the proposal.

Other agenda items include:

Student Handbook changes

Several other grant proposals

Central Office Summer Hours

CCS Police Officer Recommendation

Principal Recommendation, and

Charles Ogborn, Coordinator of the Engineer in the Classroom Program, will present to the board about the creative program.

The meeting is fully accessible to all persons at the Central Administrative Office Board Room, starting at 7 p.m.
