William (Bill) Thomas Webb, 82, of Brazil, IN came into the Presence of the Lord on April 13, 2023 at his home with his family surrounding him.

He was born in Elwood, IN on Oct. 29, 1940, the son of James Harrison Webb and Mary (Hershey) Webb. He graduated from Wendall Wilkie High School in 1958 and attended Porter College in Indianapolis earning a degree in data processing and business administration. Upon graduation, he was employed as payroll clerk at FMC Corp., Newport, IN and continued at Newport for 48 years serving as data processing supervisor under the DuPont Corp. and Uniroyal Corp. He served as the programmer analyst for Mason & Hanger until his retirement in 2010.

He was a member of the Wabash Valley Officials Association and officiated for many sports throughout the Wabash Valley for 35 years including softball, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. He coached PeeWee, Little League, and Babe Ruth baseball. He also coached and played in church softball leagues. Bill was a member of the El Shaddai Emmaus Community serving in many roles. He was a member of Love’s Harmony Gospel Quartet that performed at area churches. He enjoyed reading, golfing, gardening, cooking, sports, building furniture, singing, and traveling. He traveled to all 50 states and several countries, including mission trips to Brazil, South America. Bill attended Christ Community Church and sang on the worship team.

Bill’s faith was his lifeline, and he lived his life to bless Jesus, his Lord and Savior. One of his favorite songs was “It Is Well with My Soul”.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Karen Lee (Wells) Webb of Brazil, IN; his sons Mark Webb (Lona) of Killarney, Ireland and Michael Webb (Christy) of Westfield, IN; grandchildren Mackenzie Budd, Darrin Budd, Madeleine Webb, Joanna Webb, and Ian Webb, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Rachel (Wooten) Webb; brothers George Webb, James Webb, Joseph Webb, Robert Webb, and Benjamin Webb; sister Lois (Webb) McPherson; grandson, Cody Webb.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Community Church in Brazil on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Hershey officiating. A private burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville, IN. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 for the purpose of building a well in a needed area.
