The Clay County Health Department, Brazil Police Department, and Clay County

Sheriff’s Office is partnering to provide a local collection site for the National Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) “Prescription Drug Take-Back” initiative.

The “Take-Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by properly disposing of prescription drugs.

With no questions asked, free and anonymous collection sites will be set up nationwide for expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs, which will be disposed of without environmental threat. Residents wanting to participate can do so at the health department from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Needles, new or used, WILL NOT be accepted for disposal.

This is being done in conjunction with the current shot clinics.
