Ronald Ray Timberman, 80, of Port Richey, Florida and formerly of Clay City, Indiana passed away on July 20, 2023.

Ron was born on December 23, 1942 to John Hugo Timberman and Jean Rosanna (McKenzie) Deardorff. Ron Graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1960 then ISU in 1965 with his degree in education. He then went on to get his Master’s Degree from ISU.

Ron met Sandra (Sandy) Lee (Tate) Timberman in 1959 and they married on August 17, 1960.

He got his first teaching job at Reelsville High School in 1965 and a position as the Junior Varisty Coach. In 1967 he was offered his boys basketball head coaching job at Clay City High School. He had an outstanding coaching career at CCHS including taking the 1974 team to the Sweet Sixteen. His passions were teaching and coaching and of course history. Just ask any of his former students about his animated history lessons.

He also loved camping at Dietz Lake during the summer and taking the family on road trips to Colorado, Six Flags, Kings Island and to see the St. Louis Cardinals play.

Ron is proceeded in death by his parents John Hugo Timberman, Paul and Jean Deardorff, In-laws James Lewis Tate and Mildred Alberta Tate, sons Jimmie and Dean and grandson Kodi Braden Pipes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, son Troy of Orlando, daughter Ronna of Port Richey and his beautiful granddaughters Olivia Tru Timberman Ebert and Averi Blu Timberman Ebert. Sisters Vicki Rader (Dave) of San Tan Valley, Arizona. Robin Andrews and Renee Frazier and Ronnie Deardorff of Brazil. Sharon and Ralph Butts of Gunnison, Colorado as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many loving friends.

Ron and Sandy decided that their family has had enough funerals in their lifetimes, so he requested cremation and a graveside service. The date will be announced at a later time. He wanted to thank everyone for all their love and caring over the years.
