Clay Youth League claims three state crowns
The future is bright for baseball in Clay County.
Clay City had its best season in several years this spring while Northview continued to get better as the year moved on with a group of underclassmen.
And the good news about what’s to come? The pipeline for the Eels and Knights appears to be as strong as ever.
On Sunday, three Clay Youth League teams (7u coached by Tony Harden, 8u coached by Ryan Hayes and 12u coached by Shane Glassburn) brought a trio of state championships back home to Brazil, which was culminated with a ride on the Brazil Fire Department’s fire truck to celebrate their accomplishments.
The 10u team finished as state runner-ups while the 6u and 9u teams had strong showings as well.
