Stephen “Larry” Lawrence Hook, 79, passed away Friday July 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 1, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Francis and Katherine (Draga) Hook. Larry graduated from Carmel High School in 1962, and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He married Susan Tidd on February 21, 1964, and was a member and Deacon of the Bridgeton Baptist Church, as well as serving on the Clay Community School Board for 8 years.

Larry owned and operated Artisan Construction, which led him to be involved in many projects around the area including the remodel of the Riddell Bank and Moore Funeral Home. He was an avid woodworker, spending much of his spare time in his workshop at home. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his friends and family especially his grandkids. Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Patty and Sandy Hook.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Hook; sons, Stephen (Dana) Hook, II, and Jonathan (Carrie) Hook; daughters, Kari (Kurt) Spelbring and Stephanie (Ryan) Adams; grandchildren, Mitch (Caitlyn) Spelbring, Aubree Spelbring, Morgan (Ben) Kinser, Bailey (Jada) Adams, Makenzie Adams, Sydney Adams, Josh (Cara) Riner, Taylor Riner, Sam Wise, Silas Hook, and Naomi Hook; Eight Great-Grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jack Hopkins officiating and burial with military honors to follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
