TOP STORY OF THE DAY - Brazil family owns a traveling memorial
Brazil residents April and Billy Rogers purchased a unique car three months ago that honors veterans.
It’s a 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona Scatpack wrapped with a Warhawk shark teeth design from Kentucky.
“I wasn’t the one that had it wrapped, but when I saw it, I fell in love with it,” said April about the car she shares with her husband. “Owning a car to honor our veterans would be nice, I thought.”
While the couple share the car, April admits it is hers, “We share, but it’s my daily driver. It gets a lot of attention.”
Billy’s grandfather was a medic and a veteran of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
The family is also related to Marine Cpl. Gregory Scott Stultz. Stultz, a graduate of Northview High School, died in combat on February 19, 2010, while serving in Afghanistan as part of an elite Marine division in Operation Enduring Freedom. Stultz earned several medals during his service, including the Sea Service Deployment Medal and the Global War on Terrorism medal.
April admits her pride in the car and its connection to her family and all veterans.
“It is a memorial,” she says. “I love it. The attention it gets, the speed, and it’s a Mopar!”
