MARTHA RITA SAPPINGFIELD Staunton, IN

Martha Rita Sappingfield, age 71, of Staunton, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Marti was born on August 16, 1952 in Brazil to William Cooper and Joyce Moberley Cooper.

She was a graduate of Brazil High School and attended IVY Tech.

Marti was part of the first hires at Sony DADC, where she retired in 2017 with 30 plus years of service.

She was an excellent cook, everything was her specialty.

Marti never rested, she was always looking for the next adventure. Making memories was what Marti enjoyed the most.

Marti and Carrie Anne enjoyed their morning cup of coffee while watching the squirrels and birds.

Surviving are her daughter, Carrie Anne Sappingfield and companion Randy Kearschner; a step-son, Jack Sappingfield; a granddaughter, Briana Sappingfield and companion Brandon Zeabart; her siblings, George Cooper, Todd Jacob Cooper and wife Linda, and Susan White and husband David; and her nieces and nephews, George Edward Cooper and wife Beverly, Diane Bailey and husband Jim, Adam “Zeke” Cooper and Paula Cooper, Katrina “Kate” Gosnell and husband Ryan, Alicia Cooper; special brother and sister in law, Tom Sappingfield and wife Pam and daughter Tricia.

Marti’s Life will be Celebrated with a gathering in the future to be announced.

She will be remembered for her caring and giving spirit towards everyone she met in life. Marti always saw the good in everyone through her Rose colored glasses.
