High school sports can take up much of an athlete's time, and Northview senior Lane Notter is a prime example of this. He is on the golf team, and in the few instances when he is not golfing, he enjoys fishing and hunting.

Some of Notter's favorite memories of high school have taken place on the golf course. He describes an exciting and memorable sophomore season.

“I was in two sudden death playoffs [sophomore] year, and I won both of them. One of the playoffs was to get to regionals. It was a three-way playoff, and I won that to get to regionals.”

Notter states that he placed third in sectionals last year as well. He is proud of his performance on the golf course over the years.

“I qualified for regionals as an individual [my] sophomore year, and then we qualified as a team last year.”

Lane explains that his role models have been his various coaches throughout the years.

“All the coaches I've had, I definitely played a lot with them. They've helped me out a lot. They've taught me a lot definitely on the golf course, but also a little bit [about] getting better off the course as well.”

Notter's teammates have also played an important role, and he notes that growing closer with them has been his favorite part of high school.

As part of his senior class schedule, Lane is doing an internship with his father at his father's construction business.

“We just got done putting new shingles on a roof. We're working on a bathroom now. [We do] just kind of everything.”

Lane explains that he has been working with his father over the summer for a few years, so it was natural to continue working for him through the school year.

In the future, Lane wants to go to college to play golf. He has had a few offers and is deciding where to attend. He has not decided what he will major in yet. Notter explains that he wants to keep his options open so that he can later choose what he wants to do.

“I'm probably going to go for some kind of business degree, something kind of broad.”
