Traffic stop leads to a Jasonville woman’s arrest on drug allegations

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department released details today about a Jasonville woman’s recent arrest.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 19.

A sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area just north of Coalmont in Lewis township noticed a white pickup truck traveling south on State Road 159 exceeding the speed limit and with an equipment malfunction.

A traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of North Street and SR 159.

The driver was identified as Chrystal Salesman, 45, Jasonville, who was wanted on a nationwide extradition warrant out of Missouri.

During a subsequent investigation, Salesman was allegedly found to have 14.8 grams of methamphetamine in her possession.

Salesman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Clay County Justice Center to be remanded to the jail staff.

Salesman was preliminarily charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, placed on a Hold For Another Agency and is held with no bond awaiting extradition to Missouri.

Individuals named in this matter are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
