Aurretta Elizabeth Braswell, 87, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at her home, on October 20, 2023.

Aurretta was born on December 29, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Leo and Elizabeth (Watt) Carr. She attended Broadripple High School. She married Bill Braswell Sr. on May 26, 1956; he preceded her in death.

Aurretta worked as a cashier for Kroger for more than 40 years. Aurretta will be remembered by her family as a kind, giving, and loving person. She enjoyed spending time out doors, fishing, gardening, quilting, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Elizabeth Carr; her husband Bill Braswell; infant daughter Penny Braswell; sons Johnny Braswell, Tommy Braswell, and Patrick Braswell; siblings: Leo, Henry, and Margaret.

She is survived by her sons: Billy Braswell (Beverly), Jimmy Braswell, and Tony Braswell; grandchildren: Joseph Braswell, John Braswell, Jeffrey Braswell, Ashley Braswell, Nathaniel Braswell, Kristy Braswell, Tommy Braswell, Megan Hunt, Mallory Hunt, Brittany Sadlowski, Patrick Sadlowski, Tasha Braswell, Tony Braswell Jr., and Brandi Braswell; several great-grandchildren; sisters: Cecilia, Geri, Anna, and Claire; as well as many extended family members.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Thursday, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Doug Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Centerpoint Cemetery.
