There are many influential people in our lives, and we all have someone who inspires us. For Northview senior Nathan Kellar, that person was Stuart Bennett.

“I grew up with him and always was around him. He was the one that got me into running [cross country and track] and was the reason I stayed running. I always loved hanging out with him and getting into trouble with him.”

Bennett was a 2022 Northview graduate who was a standout cross country and track athlete. Stuart passed away after a car accident earlier this year, and his memory continues to inspire those who were lucky enough to know him.

“He's not only a friend to me... he's my brother,” Nathan states. “I miss him deeply, and I love him so much. I know one day I will see him again, but until then I can only follow what he taught me.” Kellar ended by using the hashtag “livelikestu.”

During his four years at Northview, Nathan has participated in Northview cross country and track. Outside of school, Nathan is in the Boy Scouts and enjoys camping, running, working, and playing Airsoft with his friends.

Kellar expresses his pride for his accomplishments in the Boy Scouts.

“Just recently, I got the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts which only one percent of people in Boy Scouts get.”

Kellar is not participating in an internship or the Northview ICE program, but he is in building trades which will aid him in his future career.

“After high school, I want to join the carpenters' union and do an apprenticeship. I've always enjoyed hands-on work, and I'm interested in construction.”

At some point in his life, Nathan would like to travel around the world and experience many different cultures.
