The Brazil Times contacted Clay Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Tim Rayle about reports of a school bus accident after school Wednesday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m.

Rayle confirmed the accident occurred near the intersection of County Roads 200 West and 600 North and praised the quick action of emergency responders for the well-being of everyone on board. Medical personnel and one of the school nurses assessed the North Clay and Northview High School students and the driver on the school bus as a precautionary measure.

“We are grateful to confirm that they are all in good health, with only one student reporting a slight bruise,” said Rayle.

However, Rayle said the other motorist involved in the accident was checked by emergency services and transported for further evaluation.

“Our thoughts are with the individual injured in the other vehicle, and we extend our sincere hopes for their speedy recovery,” said Rayle. “The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we are cooperating fully with law enforcement officials as they conduct their investigation into the incident.”

Rayle wanted to extend his appreciation for the swift response of emergency services and the support of the wider community during this challenging time.
