American Legion Post #2, 10 North Depot Street, Brazil, will provide free microwaveable dinners on Saturday, December 23, from noon until gone.

The Brazil American Legion Post #2, at 10 North Depot Street, Brazil, will provide a free Christmas dinner for the public on December 23 at noon until the food is gone.

Lori Knight said the event will be similar to the free dinners provided during COVID-19.

“We want people to enter the parking lot from Depot Street,” Knight said. “There will be traffic assistance on site. They will enter the parking lot and exit through the back gate.”

The microwaveable dinners will be available in various options, including ham, turkey, and pork loin with sides.

Knight said this community outreach program is very important.

“We want to help veterans in need, but we also want to help ensure our community does not go hungry during the holidays,” Knight said.

Although this is a drive-thru event, Knight said people can park and come inside the beautifully decorated community room to enjoy the meals and some warm fellowship.
