SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - NHS BRENDAN FARKAS

Friday, December 15, 2023

Brendan Farkas is a senior at Northview High School. When not at school or working, Brendan likes to play airsoft with his friends and tinker with computers.

Farkas is involved in the Northview ICE program and spends part of his day working at Maurizio's Pizza in Brazil. He explains that he chose to work there because of the understanding people and atmosphere.

“The people there are fantastic, and they are very understanding for any circumstance that may happen.”

In the future, Farkas hopes to attend Purdue University and enroll in their engineering program.

“I would like to go there and become a computer engineer.”

Brendan explains that this field is something that interests him and allows him to study something he is curious about.

“I just genuinely enjoy the field of knowledge. I like to explore what you can do with computers. This involves exploring software aspects of the computer like coding. I also like to mess with the hardware inside the computer, finding what is best with what parts I have and adding things from other old computers to mine to make it better.”

When asked of any role models that he has, Farkas names his father.

“He always shows himself as a great man and is always trying to put a smile on people's face[s]. My father has taught me to be a good person and to always make people feel better. [He has taught me that] the hardships in life will lead to good things.”

At some point in his life, Brendan would like to see and explore new places.

“I would really love to... go out and explore the world to see what it has to offer me. I would like to go out and explore not what we have done as humans, but more the natural order of our planet and the physical geographic areas that the world has to offer.”
