SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - NHS BRYLAN HILL

Thursday, December 28, 2023

For some people, high school isn't the same without sports. Northview senior Brylan Hill was a member of the bowling team, and bowling was a large part of his high school years.

Hill states that his proudest accomplishment is tied to his bowling performance.

“My favorite achievement I have is being part of the All-State team for bowling and being able to bowl against many other phenomenal competitors in the United States.”

Brylan was on the bowling All-State team in 2023, and he notes that the experience was enjoyable and even educational.

“I learned that when you put your mind and hard work to something, you can achieve it.”

Hill also recognized the support he had from his coaches and family.

Brylan explains that his favorite part of high school was competing on the bowling team. However, he will not be competing on the team this year because he will be graduating early.

“My favorite part of high school was being part of the Northview bowling team for three years and being able to represent my school in the state finals and national finals.”

Hill also participates in the ICE program at Northview and works part-time at ACE Hardware in Brazil.

“It was a very flexible and fun job to have as a high school student.”

In the fall, Brylan plans to attend college.

“I am still deciding on what I want to do for my career.”

Brylan states that his role model in life is Pete Weber, an American bowler part of the Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Fame.

“He always had the mindset [that] he was going to win and never worried or let anyone stop him from achieving what he wanted.”

When it comes to his bucket list, Hill states that he has always wanted to watch a college national championship game, specifically football.

“[I] plan to hopefully go to one in the future.”
