ELISE SHELBY, Clay City, IN

Elsie Shelby, 91, of Clay City, IN and Apache Junction, AZ, died December 30, 2023, in Arizona. For many years, she worked at Easley’s Drugstore and attended Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Known as a great cook and baker, she will especially be remembered for the beautiful cakes she decorated for countless celebrations. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, and going fishing with her family and friends. She had a loving and youthful spirit and was beautiful inside and out. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Jackson, and second husband, Chuck Shelby. Elsie is survived by her special friend, Bobby Medeiros; her children, Donna Klingler (John) and Larry Jackson (Teresa); her grandchildren Eric, Jason (Anna), Amanda (Nathen), Julia (Joe), Ashley (Bart), Heather (Colin), and Alex; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is already deeply missed! A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
