Dortha Jean Megenhardt Barrett Urbain, 95, passed away January 28, 2024. She was the daughter of Ethel Wells Megenhardt and Renos J. Megenhardt. She was born March 30, 1928 in Center Point.

She worked for the G.C. Murphy Co. for over 41 years in Brazil. She loved people. She made many friends and loved them all.

Dortha is survived by her granddaughter Stacie Ooley and her husband Scott, a grandson, Brad Barrett and his wife Rhonda, 5 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren a sister, Peggy Latham, a special sister-in-law Aggie Urbain, sister-in-law Nancy Megenhardt, as well as several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Levi Urbain in 1989, a son, Jerry Lee Barrett, four brothers who preceded her in death, Ray, Richard, Rex, and Ronald Megenhardt, sisters, Elizabeth Jenkins, Mary Jane Killion. She was also preceded in death by a very close friend, Mary Lou Dietz.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 1st from 11-1 at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service officiated by Brother Kenny Thomas will begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.
