John Alan Turner, 75, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on February 17, 2024, following a lengthy illness.

John was born on April 5, 1948, in Brazil, Indiana, the son of Melvin and Mary (Newton) Turner. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1966. He moved to Miami, Florida, where he worked as a Disc Jockey from 1966, until 1971, at WEDR. He moved back to Brazil in 1971 and began working for WWCM, in Brazil and later at WSDM. John also worked at Brazilian Lanes, was a salesman for WLEZ Radio, The Brazil Times, and Moore Langen Printing, and was the Clay County 911 Director. John also owned and operated Computer Coach where he taught Dos and Windows in the 1990’s. As a “retirement job” John worked part-time in the Clay County Election Office.

John enjoyed playing Golf, working on computers, bowling, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.

John was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Mary Turner; his siblings: Robert Turner, Eileen Voris, and Larry Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Beverly (Eldridge) Turner; sons: Scot Turner and Jason Turner and wife Mandy; grandchildren: Makayla Paullus (Mark), Jonathan Turner, Emalyn Turner, and Easton Turner; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana, 47834, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will follow, at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Gregg officiating.
