SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - NHS CADEN SCHRADER

Friday, March 1, 2024

Caden Schrader is a senior at Northview High School. He is a member of the baseball and tennis teams and is also a member of Varsity Club and National Honors Society. Outside of school, Caden plays travel baseball and enjoys working out, hunting, and fishing.

Schrader participates in the internship program at Northview and interns at KIHM Metal Technologies. He states that he chose to intern at KIHM Metal Technologies to gain a better understanding of his future career goals.

“The main reason I wanted to intern here was to get an experience around engineering just so I could help narrow down what I want to do as a job later on in life.”

In the future, Caden will be attending Indiana State University to continue his academic and athletic career. He will be playing baseball there as well as majoring in construction management.

“I have narrowed down my interest in the workforce to construction management, so I would like to get a degree in construction management at Indiana State while I continue to play baseball for them.”

Schrader explains that a degree in construction management allows him to take something that he greatly enjoys and fuse it with a career.

“I have chosen to pursue construction management because I love the outdoors, and this is a job that would allow me to make a living while also spending time outside.”

Caden has worked hard throughout high school to be able to play baseball at the collegiate level, and that is something he is very proud of.

“I would say the accomplishment that I am most proud of would be [committing] to play baseball for Indiana State University.”

Caden explains that his favorite part of high school has been the friends he has made.

“My favorite part of high school is just the lasting friendships and memories, whether it's playing sports with my best friends or hanging out with them outside of school.”
