Fire Chief Cody Barnard said the department’s goal is to purchase three to four new radios each year until every firefighter has a new radio.

Also, Barnard showed the newest battery operated extrication equipment (left bottom photo) the department received with the help of the tax payers support. The new equipment is superior to the hydraulic department was using in the past.

“Now, if we need to use extraction equipment, we don’t need to worry about fuel to start the engine or lug around heavy hoses into tight spaces,” said Barnard. “The new equipment is battery powered, light weight, and no hoses. It is a great addition to our equipment, and is something we would not have without th help of the tax payers support. It is nice to see where their money goes.”
