SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - NHS EMILY RINGO

Monday, March 4, 2024

Emily Ringo is a senior at Northview High School. She is a member of Northview DECA, and it is her second year in the club.

“Last year, I was able to go to the state competitions, and it was really fun. I'm looking forward to competing again at districts this January.”

Emily was also on the Academic Super Bowl history team and plans to compete again this year.

Outside of school, Ringo likes to spend time with her friends, travel with her family, and go to concerts. She also works part-time at Maurizio's in Brazil.

“I have made a lot of friends working there, and I really enjoy it.”

Emily is interning at Timberland Lumber Company in Brazil as part of her class schedule.

“I chose Timberland because my mother works in their accounting office, and I plan on pursuing an accounting degree in college.”

In the future, Emily plans to attend business school at either Purdue or Indiana University.

“I want to pursue a degree in acccounting. I have always had strong mathematical skills and have wanted to apply those to my future career. My mother and sister both graduated from college with accounting degrees, so I have some good insight on how accounting works in the business world. I also took an accounting class my junior year and really enjoyed it.”

Ringo states that her role models are several members of her family, including her mother, father, sister, and grandmother.

“I admire them because each of them are smart and hard workers. I hope to make all of them proud as I continue to grow and become more independent. They are all very supportive.”

At some point in her life, Emily would like to travel outside of the country.
