Betty Jane Howard, 93, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on March 9, 2024, while staying at Hudson Wood.

Betty was born on February 4, 1931, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Lester Shroyer and Delilah Bierce. She married Billy W. Howard Sr. on October 30, 1947 he preceded her in death in 2002. Betty worked as a waitress at Burger Chef and Blue Bonnett. She was actively involved in the Moose Lodge #780 for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the 4 C’s Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework. Betty was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Brazil.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Billy Howard; and a daughter Vicky Sue Young; grandchildren: Nicholas Wall and Melissa Wall; great-granddaughter Kayla Kelley.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Linda Marie Kindred of Washington and Beth Jane Morrison (Craig) of Illinois; a son Billy Howard Jr. (Jeanne) of Brazil; grandchildren: Kristen Eckert (John), James Kindred, Jerry Kelley Jr., Michele Hunter (Jonathan), Chad Howard (Shanna), and Nick Howard (Brittany); 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Services will follow at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery.
