SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - NHS HAYDEN WOOD

Monday, April 1, 2024

Hayden Wood is a senior at Northview High School. She is involved in National Honors Society, Interact Club, History Club, the Principal’s Advisory Committee, and is also a member of the Northview fall and winter guard. Outside of school, Hayden participates on a competitive dance team and is a member of the Terre Haute Women’s Junior Department Club. She also enjoys reading in her spare time.

In the future, Wood plans to go to college at either Indiana University Bloomington or Indiana University Kokomo.

“I have known that I’ve wanted to get an IU degree since I was seven years old.”

Hayden will be majoring in English and minoring in law and public policy. Her goal is to become a lawyer and work her way to becoming a judge.

“If I were to shoot for the stars, one day I’d like to be considered for a Supreme Court Justice position.”

Wood describes her motivation to go into law.

“I’ve known that I wanted to be a lawyer since I was very young. I do not think there has ever been a time when I have seen injustice and not said anything.”

Hayden explains that her favorite part of high school has been the relationships she has built through her four years at Northview.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to form strong bonds with my teachers and my peers. These past four years have played a very instrumental part in how I grew up, and I would never go back and change a thing.”

Wood states that two of her proudest achievements are tied to her academic performance.

“My proudest accomplishment would probably be keeping a perfect GPA all throughout high school or receiving the Presidential Full Tuition Scholarship from Indiana University Kokomo.”

At some point in her life, Hayden would love to travel to Italy.
