ISP: Expired Plates Leads to Discovery of Methamphetamine and Cocaine
Vigo County - At approximately 4:55 p.m., on November 9, 2022, Trooper Gerald Stump was patrolling near 2nd Avenue and North 24th, when he stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate. The driver was identified as Thomas Boatman, age 51, of Clinton. Suspicious activity was detected, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search of Boatman’s vehicle, Trooper Stump located marijuana, paraphernalia, cocaine, and methamphetamine. Boatman was taken into custody and transported to the Vigo County Jail, where he is currently being detained.
A passenger in the vehicle, Eric Wise, age 47, of Terre Haute was also taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.
