The three words we love to hear at this time of year!
The three words we love to hear at this time of year!
The three words every parent loves to hear at this time of year. Actually, it’s the three words every parent of school-age children loves to hear: BACK TO SCHOOL!
School has started in most places or will shortly. My high school senior starts Aug. 9 and, while he is not necessarily looking forward to it, I certainly am excited. He needs that structure back in his life although he would never admit it.
The Back to School season is the second largest according to a website I visited. In our country we will end up spending over 86 billion dollars on back to school supplies. So if this back to school season is the second largest season, what is the first?
Oh, I’m sure all of us would say something about the holiday this December. But, for today, I am thinking of the largest season every day always and forever for us and it comes from God. I call it “BACK TO GRACE.”
Grace is simply God’s unconditional love for you and me undeserved and unearned. This unconditional love comes from Jesus who went to the Cross for us, died for us, and rose again. Because of grace we get a second chance over and over every day.
Because of grace we know that our sins, mistakes, and bad decisions of the past are over and gone, forgiven. Grace, grace, amazing grace. Jesus said “My graces is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Cor. 12:9).
Back to Grace is the season of our lives every day.
We can always come back to grace. Feeling alone, having drifted away from God? Come back to grace. Feeling sorry and sadness about your past as it relates to God today? Come back to grace. Worried about the future? Your health, or finances or family?
Come back to grace, and give everything to God who loves us always and forever, through every season of our lives.
