Brazil Times obituary policy
• Requests to publish obituaries in the Brazil Times may only come from funeral homes. Individuals may contact the Brazil Times office to submit an obituary, but notices will not be run until confirmation can be made with a funeral home. (Some newspapers have had unfortunate experiences in the past where individuals submitted obituaries for people who had not passed away.)
• As with all newspapers today, there is a charge for obituary notices to be published. Rates for the Brazil Times are $75 for notices with 299 words or fewer, with an additional $50 for up to 100 additional words ($125 for 300-399 words, etc.). One photo is included in that fee, and the notices will be put on our website as soon as possible as well as shared on our Facebook page. All obituaries submitted by individuals must be pre-paid before they appear.
• Deadline for all obituaries is 5 p.m. on the day prior to publication. Please call (812) 446-2216 with any questions.
