Spc. 4th Class Kevin Withers spent a lot of time with his family during the holidays prior to Friday's sendoff. Community helps soldiers have dinner with families (01/02/09)
The community comes together for soldiers and families. Prior to deployment of the 138th Quartermaster the soldiers and families were treated to a special New Year's Day dinner. "Sgt. Ames contacted me right before Christmas and said the government would only pay for the soldiers being deployed. But the soldiers wanted to have their families there for the meal," Mary Fisher, owner of Goodies Galore, told The Brazil Times.
