Rain, rain, go away... Flood warning issued for 2nd time this week

A flood warning has once again been issued for the Eel River in Clay County, as more rain is expected to fall today adding to the precipitation already received in this part of the state. The flood warning for the Eel River at Bowling Green will last until Sunday night. The river is expected to rise to nearly 5 feet above its flood stage tonight and be below that stage by Sunday morning.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: Annual event moved inside because of rain

Heavy, persistent rain and a flood warning couldn’t drown out the desire to gather on the National Day of Prayer but it put a damper on it. Though the crowd was smaller than in past years and the gathering took place indoors in the rotunda of the Clay County Courthouse, a few dozen people gathered at noon on Thursday.
