To the Editor:

Rock for Brazil 4 2012 music festival raised $5,600 for the Stewart family.

This year encompassed more than 30 bands and five stages.

Beverly Stewart would like to thank everyone who donated to our cause and the countless volunteers who showed up in support.

We presented Bev and her family with this check and a memorial poster signed by each of the bands that performed that day.

The poster was designed by Beverly and we had it framed for their display.

The festival was a huge success with more than 500 tickets sold.

We had more support this year than ever before.

Please excuse me if I leave anyone out.

We would first like to thank the performing artists that donated their time and talent.

Our thanks to the participating venues: Coach with the TimeOut bar, Brad and John and staff at the Lucky 13 Lounge, Jared Grable with the Renaissance Conference Center, the City of Brazil for allowing us to close down Sherfey and Franklin streets, Clint McQueen and the fine Brazil Police Officers who helped us keep everyone safe.

We would also like to thank Blue Moon gifts for setting up a booth at the festival and donating $100 of their proceeds, Flip Flop Concessions, Danny Dumas for his unique art on display, Dever distributing, Jack's Fine Foods for supplying barbecue for the bands, Adam R. Carrington, Casey's Convenient Store, Jason Moon with The Brazil Times, John Adamson with Century 21, Maurizio's Pizza, B&B Graphics, Pam Ringo for printing the shirts, Wallace Brothers, TransCare, Larry Stark and Larry Sampson for providing the trailers for the Sherfey Street Stage, JWS Machine, and Brazil City Hall.

A big thanks to those who helped run and set up PA; Juggernott and their sound company for always providing a top notch crew of people to run and set up PA for the Franklin Street stage from noon-1 a.m., Markus Archer for supplying, setting up and running sound for the Sherfey Street stage, James Cox and the guys with Against the Clock band.

We would also like to honor the event staff that assisted with set up and making sure everything was cleaned up, safe, and secure for the entire day and evening: Todd Flinn, Doug Paullus, Brent Daub, Stephen Stewart, Jennifer Stewart, Aaron Stewart, Mike Rains, Annie Atkinson, John Kaelber, Shelly McWilliams, Debra Erwin Nettles, Ginger Lumsdon, Candy Funk, Jeremy Palm, Vernon Maesch, Susan Maesch and her wonderful photographs, and Ron Kiernicki for organizing the bands.

Most of all, thanks to the community for its support in helping us raise money for Beverly and her family.

We couldn't have done it without you all.

Matt Brookshire,

Event Coordinator,
