Forest Hartman

Beloved husband and father, Mr. Forest Hartman, 48, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, March 25, 2014.

Mr. Hartman, known as "Bob" or "Bobby" by his family and childhood friends and neighbors, was born July 3, 1965 and grew up in rural Bowling Green, IN, and was the son of the late Gladys Phipps Hartman and the late Thomas Hartman. He attended Patricksburg Elementary in Patricksburg, IN and graduated in 1983 from Owen Valley Community High School in Spencer, IN; and he graduated in 1987 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indiana State University, in Terre Haute, IN.

Forest was a "faithful" man. He and his family attended several different churches throughout the years, including the Center Point United Methodist Church in Center Point, IN; the Clay City United Methodist Church in Clay City, IN; and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Greene, NY. Forest was a "family" man. He married his wife of 22 years, Stefanie Fogleman, June 20, 1992 at the United Methodist Church in Center Point, IN. He was very proud of his four children, and he spent most of his free time volunteering, coaching, and watching their many activities. He enjoyed going to the beach and having picnics with his family.

Forest was a "forklift" man. His entire 27-year career was in the forklift industry. He held various growing engineering management positions in both design and manufacturing at Hyster in Danville, IL; Toyota Material Handling, in Columbus, IN; Carlisle Brake & Friction in Bloomington, IN; Crown Equipment Corporation in Greencastle, IN; The Raymond Corporation in Greene, NY; and NACCO Materials Handling Group in Greenville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gladys Phipps Hartman of Bowling Green, IN, his father Thomas Hartman of Bowling Green, IN; an infant son, Andrew Hartman, and an infant daughter; Phoebe Hartman.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Stefanie Fogleman Hartman; and his children: son, Forest Jr "Bobby"; son, Jacob; daughter, Andrea; and son Luke; all of Wilmington, NC. sister, Karen Hartman Lovett and husband Myron of Brazil, IN; brother, Bill Hartman and wife Karen, of Clinton, IN; brother, Thomas Hartman, of Bowling Green, IN; and brother Arnold Hartman of Bowling Green, IN; and nieces and nephews and extended family. mother in-law, Carol Sue Davis Fogleman of Cayuga, IN and father-in-law, Gene Fogleman of Cayuga, IN; sister in-law, Kim Fogleman Travis and husband David of Columbus, IN; sister-in-law, Peggy Fogleman Strawser and husband Marc of Fishers, IN; and brother-in-law, Chris Fogleman of Los Angeles, CA; and nieces and nephews and extended family.

There was a cremation and he was a donor. Memorial services may be planned in the near future in North Carolina and in Indiana.
