Community helped make fish fry a success

To the editor:

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County had a very successful fish fry and silent auction on April 12, 2014. We appreciate all who organized, attended, worked, made donations, made purchases or contributed in any way. The support of our community is crucial to our mission of building affordable homes with partner families. We rely on donations of labor, time, money, materials and fundraisers to help keep the homes affordable. Our partner family works for hundreds of hours helping to build their home. Each partner family pays a 20-year no-interest mortgage to pay for the home. The homes are not free. Because our community has blessed our organization with generous support, we will dedicate our eigth home in June. We are building homes and building hope one family at a time.
