Resident voices concerns over pharmacutical commercials

Sunday, May 11, 2014

To the editor:

This letter is about medicine commercials on TV and the propaganda junk they spread to the public. TV commercials such as Lyrica, Tamiflu, Celebrex, Abilify, Viagra, Nexium, Humira, Scolera, Chantix, Cialasis, Breo, Crestor, Bayer, Linzess, Latuda, etc.

First they tell you how great this stuff is and how it will help you, and then in the very same commercial tell you to call your doctor about it and then tell you serious side effects could occur, even death.

That's ignorant. Who in their right mind is going to spend money on something that's supposed to help them in the beginning and then cause death later on? These types of commercials should be banned from TV or against the law to advertise it.

I don't care how legal it is or how big the company it is or how the BBB approves of it.

Don't depend on the FCC, you know the ones that's suppose to be in control of what's on TV, they won't do nothing as long as they get some of that big money these companies pay them to keep their commercials on TV.

I'm not talking about all commercials, just the ones I mentioned.

Until next time, take care and be fair.
