To the editor:

Regarding the May 27 Letter to the Editor from Andrea Lynn (CYL Baseball).

Accolades and kudos from three founding fathers of CCYL Baseball, for all of Clay County, both boys and girls. Almost 50-years-old CCYL has prospered and self-sustained.

Over those 50 years hundreds of thousands of people, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, friends and passersby have paused to view the activity on these famous and special grounds, known as Roy Brann Memorial Stadium. And, thousands of thousands of dollars have been collected and spent on hundreds of thousands of players through concession, donation, and fund raising projects. Sometimes, during the past 10 years exceeding as much as $80,000. Almost forgotten but most important to the function of the league are the officers, concession stand and grounds folks along with the coaches and assistant coaches. Mrs. Andrea Lynn my hat is off to you. Your letter brought tears to my eyes, experiencing great appreciation for your kind words and praise. So many times good deeds go unnoticed, in this case over 50 years of constant progress, unassisted only done by a unwavering desire to create a program of baseball for the youth of Clay County. Some 60 years ago a short stubby fingered man by the name of Roy Brann, 1946 set a example for me and men like Tobe Sutherlin, Warren Smith who still survives and take much pride in your letter of praise.
