Clark congratulates Brazil mayor and staff

Sunday, October 18, 2015

Kudos and accolades to Mayor Brian Wyndham and his team of people he has out of the mayor's office. I am a life-long, born-and-bred citizen of Clay County. I was a merchant along with my wife and family on main street Brazil. From 1959 to 1989, 30 years, the wife and I opened our store on main street at 7 a.m. in the morning and for the first 10 years, seven days a week with only three days closed a year, Christmas, New Years and Easter. Over 25 years after retiring and selling out the store, I am amazed at the change going on on main street Brazil.

Mayor Wyndham and his staff have been fantastic in their handling of this major renovation of downtown Brazil.

Stop and think of how each day, each morning you have to meet the challenge of being mayor and taking care of the business of dismantling of main street Brazil. The mayor has a special talent of leadership, total involvement and selection of people around him who not only have professional talent in their field, but most of all have not good, but great people skills. Not only do they do their job well, but also involve themselves in social and public projects. Mayor Wyndham has demonstrated his love for family, community and being mayor of Brazil.

I can't close until I mention the recent motorcycle ride to collect money for the Clay County Animal Shelter. The mayor and staff collected over $5,000 for the shelter.

The humility, candor and people skills the mayor and his staff is without a doubt a demonstration of binding the folks of Brazil and people of Clay County together, to show we can work together.

Thank you Mayor Wyndham and the staff of the Brazil Mayor's Office for the example you set.
