Easter fun

Easter, one of the best-loved holidays, is on its way and there’s lots of Spring fun, special food, time with family and, of course, decorated eggs to discover. With many local churches planning special events for families, here is a list of some of the public events taking place:

Friday, April 19

Cloverleaf Healthcare of Knightsville, 9325 North Crawford St., Knightsville: 6 p.m.

FOUR GOLDEN PRIZES! One winner from each age group. Prizes range from a toddler basket, bicycles, and the GRAND GOLDEN PRIZE IS A $100 BILL!! The age groups will be roped off for their age appropriate areas to hunt. If your child is not able to walk you can assist them to find SOME eggs.

Saturday, April 20

First Christian Church, 1875 West US 40, Brazil: 10 a.m. Egg Hunts will be available for kids 5th grade and younger with separate egg hunts based on age groups. Families will meet at the main pavilion for giveaways, a brief summary of the morning, and directions.

Carbon Baptist Church, 14100 North Murphy Road, Carbon: 10 a.m.

Trinity Baptist Church, 1005 North Washington Street, Brazil: 10 a.m. For more information, call 812-448-3689.

American Legion presents the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at Forest Park: 1 p.m.

Families can gather at the shelter by the baseball fields to learn where the hunts will take place for the four age groups (under 3, 3-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-12 years). Bicycles as prizes for the older children are donated in memory of Cpl. Gregory S. Stultz, with a big bunny prize for the youngest age group. Organizers also confirmed there are cash prizes in each age group of $1, $5, $10 and $20.

Sunday, April 21

The Church of Our Lord Jesus, 708 E. Hendrix St., Brazil is giving away 50 Easter baskets during an Easter egg hunt at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, April 21st. Look for a golden egg for a special prize.
