Vintage memories of cruising in Brazil

Didn’t matter if it was day (upper left) or night (lower right), seems National Rexall Drugs was a favorite place to stop the car and catch a bite to eat while socializing back in the day.

According to residents, with more than 1,100 actively engaging and sharing a posted question on the Times’ Facebook page, including the following comments:

Lori Pierce - Loved going there Saturday before the matinée at The Cooper for a marshmallow Coke. Then to the basement of Oehler’s to look for the latest 45’s!

Jill Evans - Chocolate cokes (sigh)

Shirley Wolff - The National drug store also served food and had the best BBQ sandwiches.

A Facebook post including photos from the annual American Legion Post 2 Car, Truck and Bike Show and asking local residents to share their memories about cruising in Brazil was actively engaged and shared by more than 1,000 people.

Some of the comments included:

Sam Okulovich - Used to cruise with brothers all the time

James Lantzy - We cruise when it’s not raining (and posted a picture of cruising today)

Emery Phillips - That’s a bad azz Chevy Truck parked between those yellow vehicles!!
