BREAKING - Dowdy in custody, facing felony child solicitation
According to the Vigo County Jail, as of 10:55 a.m., Thursday morning Josh Dowdy, 42, Clay City, was taken into custody by the West Terre Haute Police Department.
Dowdy was taken into custody on a level 4 felony warrant.
The charge is for: Child solicitation (person at least 21 solicits child at least 14 but less than 16 or an individual the person believes is child age 14-16) using computer network and the person travels to meet child or an individual person believes to be a child or person has a previous unrelated conviction for committing a child solicitation offense.

Social media posts by PCI: Predator Catchers Indianapolis over the weekend regarding Dowdy allegedly being caught on video meeting a decoy in a Terre Haute store. The viral video led to an investigation by local officials.
“This is a great representation of how local law enforcement agencies work together,” said Clay County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Josh Clarke. “It took a combination of efforts to do this, and it’s not over. The investigation will continue.”
