Deputy recovering from gunshot wound, where to send "get well" cards

Deputy Brison Swearingen is a 17-year veteran at Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

On Friday, according to Indiana State Police Putnamville Public Information Officer Sgt. Matt Ames, Deputy Brison Swearingen was shot by an unidentified suspect armed with a rifle while performing a warrant service. The incident occurred near the New Brunswick Bridge on State Road 59, approximately six miles south of Clay City.

Swearingen sustained non-life-threatening injuries. STAR Ambulance personnel treated Swearingen at the scene before being taken to an Indianapolis hospital by AirEvac.

With many people asking where to send a “get well” card to Swearingen, Times Staff asked the Clay County Sheriff's Department.
